To the Editor:
I was a bit disappointed to see that Wednesday's issue of The Dartmouth contained no mention of the Academic Gala, which occurred Tuesday evening. The Gala honored over 230 seniors for their accomplishments as thesis writers and Senior Fellows, and featured talks by four members of the senior class about their experiences with independent research. This independent research is an integral part of the Dartmouth academic experience, and the event served to highlight the broad range of topics that a liberal arts institution such as Dartmouth is all about. Please join me in congratulating those who were honored for all of their hard work.
