To the Editors,
At our local high school, some teachers are interested in spending lots of their time monitoring how many girls have exactly how much midriff exposed, and "writing up" those who "violate" stated policy.
Does the College want to likewise convert more and more of the scarce resources of campus Safety & Security personnel to "writing up" alcohol "violations"? Is this really the most valuable way for them to contribute to student well-being? Do we really want to see College functionaries paid to be sticklers on policies that may be questionable and arbitrary?
I know of no better way to discourage frats from acting responsibly than for the College to communicate to them that they are untrustworthy and deserving of unblinking scrutiny.
