To the Editor:
Regarding Dan Galemba's lingering resentment toward his high school guidance counselor for trying to dissuade him from applying to Dartmouth ("Opening Doors," The Dartmouth, Jan. 10): exactly 30 years before him, I mentioned my interest in Dartmouth to my guidance counselor (I also needed much financial aid). Her reply was "Dartmouth? Is that a state school? Where is it?"
Buck up, Dan. There's been progress -- at least your counselor recognized the name.
