To the Editor:
I wanted to thank Abby Horowitz for her column ("Not in Kresge," The Dartmouth, Oct. 7) about working out in Provincetown. As a young gay man, I'm often torn between, on one hand, the desire to not seem as "othered" as I may feel, and on the other, the need to treat my sexuality as the non-issue it should be. There are times when I have to steel myself to pick up The Advocate at The Dartmouth Bookstore (located inappropriately beside pornography), not because I'm ashamed of my sexuality, but because sometimes it takes a moment to remember that I can be gay without it factoring into every choice I make. Abby's column captured these sentiments very well, and I applaud her for taking the time to put herself in someone else's sneakers.
