Uneven Separation

To The Editor:

It seems to me that recently the government has walked a fine line between separation of religion and state.

On one hand, the Supreme Court has allowed for the education vouchers to be used in private, religiously affiliated schools. These vouchers do, indeed, come from the taxpayers' money. There is no way to indicate for somebody who is an atheist that their money should not be spent on religious schools.

After all, it seems that the Pledge of Allegiance is the least restrictive -- one does not have to recite it whereas we all MUST pay taxes. Where do we draw the line?
