To the Editor:
My daughter is an '04 that is required to be on campus for her "Sophomore Summer." I am appalled at the living conditions that the College has forced these students to live in.
The rooms I have observed have not been properly cleaned and obviously not maintained. In addition, the College has neglected to provide for the unbearable summer heat. They expect students to sleep in heat that is causing dehydration and still function as if nothing abnormal is going on.
If the College insists on requiring summer attendance, then it should provide adequate housing. Are they willing to assume the responsibility for any student that becomes ill due to the deplorable living conditions?
Students are being forced to cope with unbearable situations in both the dining facilities and the dormitories. Every parent should be asking, "Why weren't there proper living conditions to begin with?"
