The Dartmouth

A Flawed Way of Thinking

To the Editor:

In the May 13 article in The Dartmouth,"New locks may hinder deliveries," Dean of the College Martin Redman notes that Panda House, the New York Times and others deliver to his front door, not to his bedroom. That is fine for his house, but surely he is aware that most dorms do not function as houses but more as apartment buildings. I'll bet that his own living room is a lot better furnished than the entryways/lobbies of most dorms.

And what about newspapers? Will that be dealt with in the same way as the "storage space" for laundry detergent that most dorms currently have? Can we just assume that our paid subscriptions will be stolen like our Tide and Clorox?
