I too am troubled by the problems that Janis Hui raises in her commentary on Dick's House health care (The Dartmouth, Feb. 27, "Incompetence").
Something about Dick's House is troubling to Ms. Hui but I'm not sure exactly what. I am in no position to defend Dick's House and will make no attempt to do so. I would merely point out the incongruity of writing a commentary about incompetence, angrily pointing a finger at a specific facility as an example, but then not offering details about what is specifically incompetent.
It seems that Ms. Hui is at risk of committing the very sin so vilified in the commentary.
If the care provided at Dick's House is indeed so lacking, I applaud Ms. Hui's initiative in bringing it to the public. A competent commentary would include specifics regarding the faults and, one could argue, proposed solutions.
