To the Editor:
Despite the fact that Paul Marino's recent derogatory comments regarding the state of Maine were made in jest ("Treehouses A Flop?", Oct. 15), as a lifelong resident of that wonderful state I take offense. True, Maine has no real cities and a deer population which most likely exceeds its human population. Although there is even less to do in Maine than there is to do in Hanover, this does not in any way change the fact that Maine is indeed an official state of our union and very much a part of New England. So, Mr. Marino, I appreciate the humorous intentions of your article, but if you dis my state again, then I might jokingly have to beat the piss out of you.
