Anthrax Isn't Funny

To the Editor:

On page four of "The D," Oct. 17, there was a comic strip entitled "Anthrax Living" that pokes fun at what is looking like a second attack on the United States. At least 31 people in the United States have been exposed to what amounts to a biological weapon, one person has died, and others have had some very close calls. This is a serious situation, yet this comic strip makes light of it by depicting an America in which everyone is forced to wear gas masks and ironically have had their way of life so infringed upon that they are struggling to eat from within their gas masks.

I fail to see the humor in this, as it is in many ways the reality of probably just about every member of our government and armed forces at this point. I find it very irresponsible of "The D" to print something like this and would ask that if you continue to print things like it in the future, you will share the cartoonist's name with the rest of us.
