To the Editor:
I was very disappointed to see that despite the fact that your own poll (September 24) showed that a quarter of Dartmouth students were not in support of any military action, this viewpoint was entirely ignored in the most recent issue of The Dartmouth. It is irresponsible to portray the entire Dartmouth community as supporting George W. Bush and military action when a sizable portion of the campus does not.
Also, the polling question and answer options used severely misrepresented the sentiments of the campus. With the options given, there was no option to say that people support military action only under some conditions or that they support it only after other potential peaceable means are exhausted. I know that there are many students on campus who feel this way, but were wary of saying that they did not support any form of military action under any circumstances.
