To the Editor:
In your August 1st article "Dartmouth Teams Experience Varied Success," you failed to even mention the Big Green men's and women's accomplishments in cross country and track.
The cross-country men's team qualified for the NCAAs and a cross-country woman, Erin Dromgoole '01, earned NCAA All-American status with a 23rd place run.
Tom McArdle '03 earned All-American status in NCAA indoor track 5k placing 10th plus NCAA outdoor track 10k placing 5th.
Three All-American awards in 2000-01 in the Big Green running squads, something that should not be overlooked. These runners are dedicated hard working members of a sport that overall does not receive the recognition of other more high profile collegiate sports in many colleges.
Dartmouth should share the knowledge (especially with its newest members- the '05s) that it has some wonderful men and women within its ranks of the running community! Go Green!
