Bemused at Stanford

To the Editor:

Don't you people realize what you are doing is wrong as well? Sure, "The Zetemouth" is disgusting and vile, but it was also private. I am sure many other groups on your campus talk about girls in this way but have no newsletter recording every word. I believe that, since Zeta Psi fraternity meant to dispose of the newsletter, it means that they were at least attempting to protect anyone who was mentioned. I think the fact that someone picked through the trash to find something "bad" on the fraternity is almost as disgusting as the newsletter itself. Get over yourselves, people, and try not to be so politically correct all the time. No one on campus would have had to see the vulgarity in the newsletter if Melissa Heaton '02 had just let it lie. It wasn't meant for everyone to read, and it wasn't meant to publicly damage anyone's character, so why would you want to expose it and bring shame to everyone mentioned in the newsletter? Stanford is the same way when it comes to being politically correct and I believe that we have gone too far.
