To the Editor:
I am an old friend of Matt Demaine's from high-school. I just wanted to express my sympathies to the Dartmouth community and say a few words about Matty. To me, he was so much more than a friend-- he was a role-model and a brother. As most people know, Matty was beaming with energy and was always willing to flash his brilliant smile. He was a model student and a model human-being. Apart from his love for the arts and athletics, he loved adventure. In fact he picked up the nickname "Captain Adventure" in high-school, because once a month he would strip down naked and jump in the Connecticut River. He could never be content lazing about; the idea of relaxing scared him. The best was never enough for him. I will miss him so dearly, and I'm sure that he's running around on another adventure.
