To the Editor:
Due to the recent announcement of the possible derecognition of Zeta Psi fraternity, I would like to respond with a couple of thoughts. I've visited Zeta Psi quite frequently over the past few terms. In fact, some of my best friends at Dartmouth are brothers at the house, though I am not a brother myself. I have never felt like whatever attitudes expressed in these "reports" have manifested themselves publicly at Zeta Psi. Furthermore, I feel as though the supposedly misogynistic sentiments reflected in the newsletters were intended as a parody and the intents were merely humorous. Likewise, since these newsletters were never released publicly; they were obviously intended only for the brotherhood (think of the newsletter as an inside joke). It is therefore unfair to derecognize Zeta Psi on the grounds of assuming that all the brothers are misogynists. I deeply hope that a quality house representing an excellent group of guys doesn't perish from Dartmouth as a result of assumptions and generalizations.
