To the Editor:
Reading the descriptions of the Zantop murders in the press took me back to 30 years ago, when I was a young Marine Corps JAG lawyer involved in the trial of a similar, equally brutal, double murder. The job of the investigators and the prosecutors in such a situation is to see to it that the persons responsible for the murders are brought to trial reasonably quickly and receive a fair trial, free of tainted evidence. In that respect, the Hanover Police Department, New Hampshire State Police and Attorney General's office, and the FBI have done, and continue to do, a superb job.
