To the Editor:
I do hope that Dr. Lynda Williams' letter will open a few eyes. I know firsthand how the media works. In fact, I was so disheartened by their "tabloid" approach that I left the media for good. My conscience would not allow me to be part of an establishment that exploited people in such a way.
Long ago, I trusted the media that their facts were true and accurate. But no more. They'll take any chance to exploit, ruin and bury a human being, all for the sake of "ratings."
There has to be legislative interference that holds the press accountable for their libelous actions (and I'm not just speaking about civil action). I truly don't believe that this is what our forefathers had in mind when they signed the Constitution, granting us "Freedom of Speech."
My heart goes out to Dr. Williams and her husband. Personally, I think they should sue those involved. Hit them where their heart really lies --- the pocket book.
