To the Editor:
Inappropriate actions should have consequences. If Psi Upsilon fraternity doesn't stand for racism and sexism, then they should remove those members whose actions are inappropriate. I was a member of a fraternity when I was at Dartmouth and removing a member is certainly not something that should be done lightly, but when the members don't reflect the values of the house, they should be asked to resign, and if they don't, they should be removed.
Their actions reflect badly on their house and on Dartmouth. My fellow Native American alumni are waiting to see if actions have real consequences. Each of us suffered frominappropriate behavior while at Dartmouth, but sometimes it has to stop. It is up to the brothers of Psi U to decide who they are and what they really stand for, not what they say they stand for. Dartmouth often seems like a separate world, but what you do there stays with you for a long time.
