Dear Editors,
I have no idea what leads the authorities to believe that two young teens murdered the Zantops. What I do wonder, however, is whether the authorities are checking very carefully into the sources of their information leading them to such unlikely suspects. What if someone who more closely fits the FBI profile for the murderer is misleading the authorities? For example, where did the Boston Globe's unlikely story come from?
It seems to me that someone who fits the profile -- an intellectual -- would hire someone to commit the murder before committing the murder themselves.
Evidently, the authorities are going with the theory that the murders were random rather than targeted. This still seems unlikely to me despite the fact that there are warrants out for the arrest of suspects who are apparently on the run.
I hope they catch Tulloch and Parker so they can question them. I have a feeling that the teens' answers may lead to more questions.
