To the Editor:
I read in your newspaper a report about a campus visit of Sam Webb, the chair of the Communist Party of USA. I cannot believe my eyes. Where is the outrage?
Let me state the known and the obvious. The Communist Party of USA was and is financed directly by proceeds from genocide and mass expropriation. The course of history has proved beyond reasonable doubt that the communist dogma and practices are a threat to the liberties, property, and the very life of every human being. Granted, that threat, in New England of 2000 A. D., is negligible. But so is the threat of Nazism, for example. If Tabard invited a prominent Nazi to speak about the virtues of Nazism as opposed to democracy, to speculate about the bright future under the swastika flag, and to urge the students to join the Nazi movement, would The Dartmouth write this type of report?
How many million still have to die before the Dartmouth kids realize exactly what Sam Webb and his comrades stand for?
