Attack On Dubya

As a Dartmouth graduate, I enjoy checking the latest campus news and commentary each morning in the "D" on-line edition. Though I never agree with your columnists much, nor did I as a student, I do appreciate their intelligent and articulate writing. Friday's column by Kevan Higgins was a disappointing exception. Mr. Higgins' diatribe against George W. Bush was ill- conceived, ill-informed and illness inducing. His visceral attacks on the Governor made up for in spite what they lacked in substance or style. His use of such eloquent terms as "scumbag", "jerk", "ugly" and "creep" to describe the Governor, Senator John McCain, President George Bush and Barbara Bush shows that he had nothing of value to contribute to your pages.

I disagree with Senator McCain's views on campaign finance reform, but I can see how so many voters are disillusioned with American politics. With Mr. Higgins' contribution to the debate, who would want to be involved?
