Homecoming 1999 Special Issue

This weekend is the last Dartmouth Homecoming of the 20th century, not to mention of this millenium. So play one last game of Snood, sign off your BlitzMail and stop pretending to study for that midterm next Monday.

This "College on the Hill" is steeped in tradition and Homecoming is arguably one of the most traditional celebrations at Dartmouth. It is a time when freshmen work together to build a huge wooden structure we know fondly as the bonfire. It is a time when everyone here cannot help but feel the spirit that is Dartmouth.

Whether you go to the football game, climb to the top of Baker Tower or just walk around campus and choose your favorite fall tree, you will be experiencing the tradition of Dartmouth College. This past year, that word -- tradition -- has been the focus of a lot of attention.

This weekend all of us have the opportunity to embrace the history as well as the new ideas that make our College what it is. So, have a safe and happy Homecoming!
