To The Editor:
In response your Thursday, October 14 editorial, "Selling Our For Image":
While the structure of social life at Dartmouth should not be formulated to appease national stereotypes, one would be foolish to ignore them. The value of a Dartmouth degree can be affected by them (in terms of the job market), but more importantly, national stereotypes affect self-selection of prospective students into our admissions pool. You may or may not think the "Animal House" image is justified, but don't deny that reputation matters.
