To the Editor:
As a former AXA President I was SHOCKED to read the absurd controversy surrounding the fraternity's traditional summer Luau party. I'm not sure which is more ludicrous, that someone actually called this harmless social event "racist" and a "vile act of incivility" or that the presidents of the houses involved and the CFSC caved into these inane accusations. Coddling the lunatic fringe of political correctness solves no real problems. It only serves to blur the line between the real and imagined, ultimately marginalizing the ability of legitimate voices to gain remedies for the genuine injustices that plague our society.
