To the Editor:
I am writing in regards to an editorial I read published on Monday, August 17 entitled, "Are You Nuts?" I am absolutely appalled that an attitude as blatantly sexist rose from a Dartmouth community member, and worse, was given voice in The Dartmouth. Roy Lee's editorial reflects highly negative views of women and women's bodies and completely discounts women's intellectual and professional capacities. It promotes the pernicious and absolutely false notion of women as commodities, which are to be possessed and evaluated by men.
Again, I am truly sorry to call myself a member of a community that will accept (and print an expression of!) this attitude. I request that The Dartmouth solicit and publish an apology from Lee that acknowledges his egregious error and humbly asks that we be more mature than he has shown himself to be.
