Lee's Column Hurts and Offends

To the Editor:

I would just like to say that I am absolutely infuriated about the article in the August 17th issue of The Dartmouth by Roy Lee about President Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky. For him to have the gall to write an article criticizing Monica Lewinsky's appearance and thus Clinton's bad taste is unbelievable. For him to take such offense in such trivial aspects of a person's being as their appearance shows that he truly lacks in intelligence and common sense. We now know that he cares more about what he looks like first thing in the morning than perhaps the amazing things he could accomplish in the day.

Yet what's even more appalling is that the D would be willing to print that article. If this is some lame attempt to get people roused up, then you've certainly gotten what you asked for. Believe me, there are plenty of us strong, intelligent women who are up in arms about this.

And to answer Roy's question that he asked of another girl who criticized him for his article, no, I'm not fat. ANY girl would be upset at such outrageous and biased judgments.

I hope to see fewer of such insensitive and hurtful articles in future issues of The Dartmouth.
