To the Editor:
The title of an Associated Press news article on page 11 of [the September 21 issue of The Dartmouth] reads: "Leftist workers kill at least 24 in Columbia." Misspelling a country's name is not only an embarrassment for the editor(s) of The D, but also an insult to any Colombians that might read your newspaper. It is well known that Americans seriously lack world geography knowledge, but that such a mistake should make it to the headline is truly amazing, especially considering that the article begins with the correct spelling, "Apartado, Colombia." Do the editors read the articles? Or just copy and paste?
