The Programming Board and various student musical groups have planned a variety of performances for Green Key Weekend.
For the kick off event,last night the Programming Board welcomed alternative bands, Cracker and The Meat Puppets who played in Webster Hall last night.
Tonight, the annual Spring Sing will be held in Spaulding Auditorium at 8. The concert is composed of various a cappela groups including the Decibelles and the Aires as well as the Beelzabobs, an all male a cappela group from Tufts University and Off the Beat from the University of Pennsylvania. The cost is $2 for undergraduates
Also on Friday night the Green Key formal will be held in Collis Common Ground from 11 to 2. Swing and big band music will be provided by the Keynotes.
The formal is free of charge for Dartmouth students and $2 for others at the door.
The Class of 1995 will have a kareoke between orchestra sets at the dance.
As part of the main feature of Helldorado, this year's Green Key theme, The Swinging Steaks, a country rock band from Boston will perform on the Green Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.
From 12 to 12:45 on Saturday, Skaboodah will perform on the Green. From 12:45 to 1, either comedian Chris Foley '95 or the Dartmouth improvisational group, The Dog Day Players, will perform. From 1 to 1:45, a local campus band, yet to be announced, will be playing followed by the second comedian act.
The Barbary Coast Jazz Ensemble will also hold its Senior Feature Concert Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Hopkins Center's Spaulding Auditorium. Admission will be $2 for undergraduates and $7 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the Hopkins Center Box Office.
The Student Jazz Ensemble is directed by Don Glasgo and will feature solo performances by seven graduating members: Lauran Iwan, Allison Kornet, Mike McClure, Kirk Miller, Rick Moss, Sean Paley and Eric Portland .
Each of these graduating members will perform his or her own solo piece with the band as background.
