Celebrity headlines: Paris dumps Nick

The world does not stop for Dartmouth. While members of the Class of 2006 spent this past weekend entertaining their parents with on-campus barbecues and prostituting younger siblings out to their Greek organizations, celebrity life continued as usual. Many celebrities did lots of noteworthy things this weekend, namely being ridiculously awesome and dropping Gs on Crystal. Here is at what some celebs were up to this past weekend:

Paris Dumps Nick

Paris Hilton's publicist told the Associated Press Friday that the 23-year old hotel heiress/actress broke up with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, Hilton's boyfriend of seven months, in order to concentrate on her work.

Hilton is currently slated to begin shooting on her first starring film role in the sorority movie "Pledge This" in August.

Damon hits box office gold

Matt Damon's action flick "The Bourne Supremacy," the sequel to 2002's "The Bourne Identity" brought in $52.5 million in its opening weekend.

Sopranos whacked for 2005

HBO officials announced that popular television show "The Sopranos" will not air new episodes in 2005.

The sixth and final season of the mob series is slated to air in 2005. During a weekend interview, HBO chairman Chris Albrecht hinted that the final season could be longer than the 10 episodes that "The Sopranos" executive producer committed to in January.

Mary-Kate heads home

After six weeks in rehab for an eating disorder, 18-year-old Mary-Kate Olsen returned home on Friday, according to her representatives. The gossip world was abuzz with rumors speculating that Olsen was really in rehab for cocaine abuse.

Mary-Kate and sister Ashley are both slated to attend New York University in the fall.
