How Dartmouth Changes Us

The time to pack your bags for Dartmouth is finally here! Well almost. You probably can taste the independence and autonomy that await you in Hanover this September, and the only thing that stands in the way of your much-anticipated matriculation is the longest darn summer of your entire life. Even though I am headed into my final year at Dartmouth, I can still remember quite well what it feels like to be sitting at home before freshman year, working long hours at some mundane summer job and getting anxious to escape the jurisdiction of your parents.
This year's Assembly Presidential campaign has been more intense than any I have witnessed at Dartmouth. With three determined candidates from within the Assembly, a vocal outsider, and a "Novack Party" representative, it looks as though this may come down to the very last vote.
There has been a lot of recent press and discussion concerning the Sexual Assault Awareness and Consent Campaign initiated by a group of students intent on educating the Class of 2005 about issues of consent.
To the Editor: There were a number of errors in the yesterday's article, "SA to Monitor Investments," regarding the newly created Committee on Investor Responsibility.
Just as I did in my speech the other night, I'm going to begin with a confession. While I was walking around last Friday, hanging posters on ever floor of every dorm on campus, I wondered -- just for a second -- why am I doing this?
