A Christmas Eve explosion at the Element Hotel in Lebanon has rendered the establishment inoperable for the foreseeable future.


Explosion at area hotel left several injured

Just three miles from campus, an electrical fire and propane leak caused an explosion at the Element Hotel in Lebanon, which injured eight guests and two firefighters this past Christmas Eve.

College provost Joseph Helble spoke to The Dartmouth about steps the College is taking to prevent future incidents of sexual misconduct.


College sees changes in sexual misconduct policy following lawsuit

With the $14 million settlement of a federal class action lawsuit accusing the College of failing for years to act on allegations of sexual misconduct against three former psychological and brain sciences professors pending court approval, the lawsuit has spurred a number of both direct and indirect changes on campus to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Preparations underway for bonfire, other Homecoming events

As Homecoming weekend approaches, preparations and precautions alike are underway. Departments across campus have coordinated with each other and the town of Hanover to bring back previous traditions, introduce new ones and conform to safety standards.

West House offers snack bar currency at community events

The West House executive board recently reintroduced “West Bucks,” a form of currency that West House residents may receive at select house community events that can be exchanged for food at the student-run “Snack Shack.” As a continuation of an initiative that began last spring, West Bucks has seen a number of improvements since its inception.
