Historically, Dartmouth College has been home to some of the loudest and most enthusiastic crowds in the Ivy League. Teevens said that the best way for Dartmouth (1-3, 1-1 Ivy) to stop record-setting Yale (4-0, 2-0 Ivy) running back Mike McLeod was to keep the Bulldog offense on the sidelines for as much of the game as possible. Yet, the Bulldogs kept the ball for 38:46 in a 50-10 victory.

Last season Dartmouth featured the lowest-scoring offense in the League, and the second-worst in offensive yards. Milan Williams '09 has taken over the role of starting tailback in a large way, putting up 179 yards in the opener against Colgate, and Tom Bennewitz '08 will again take the helm of the Big Green offense. He started last season at QB before being sidelined for the majority of the year with a chest injury in the opening game against Colgate. Bennewitz has good mobility out of the pocket, and will be working with strong returning receivers, especially at the tight end position.

Nifong's mishandling of the case began on March 27, 2006, when he took control of the prosecution, and placed himself firmly in the public eye, agreeing to over 50 interviews. The decision to take an off term during sophomore summer is a difficult one, it's a decision many Dartmouth athletes make. Sometimes, as in the case of international student-athletes, the government makes the decision for the student. International athletes cannot take classes because of visa restrictions, and many will choose to return to their home countries to train and compete. Other athletes make a more voluntary choice, deciding between staying in Hanover to use Dartmouth's athletic facilities or returning home to play in a club league.
