Dartmouth raced at the Women's Regis Bowl at Boston University, the Hood Trophy at Tufts University, the Salt Pond Invitational in Rhode Island, the St. Mary's Fall at St. Mary's College and the Northern Series Two, a home regatta at Mascoma Lake in Lebanon, N.H. It won the Women's Regis Bowl and the Salt Pond Invitational and placed second at the Northern Series.
While some camps are geared toward beginners, others are designed for high school students looking to be recruited by Dartmouth coaches.
The tournament began Friday afternoon with four current members of the varsity team, co-captain Alexander Centenari '13, Jacobs, De Chatellus and Ghorbani. Bryan Song '11 also participated in the meet.
"I'd say my fitness is at a level that I'm happy with," Hanson said. "This summer I want to maintain my level of fitness, but work more on playing smart. I don't want to be that guy who runs down every ball and outlasts everyone else. I like playing an aggressive style and need to play smart and attack."
For many members of the Dartmouth men's rugby team, Summer term provides a refreshing break from the grueling training and game schedule of the regular season. For 19 team members from the Class of 2013, however, summer will entail a strict training calendar to prepare for the fall Ivy League season.
Most students take classes during sophomore Summer, but Alexander Centenari '13 is not your average sophomore. Instead of hitting the books, Centenari will be training and travelling all across the United States to play in professional tennis tournaments.
Paul Jarvis '12 was elected captain, while Bill Lehmann '12, Nate Brakeley '12 and Derek Fish '12 were named co-captains. Clark Judge '12 was also elected president of the Big Green, which finished its spring season with a 3-4 record in the Premier Division and ranked 16th in the nation.
The Dartmouth sailing team had mixed results this weekend, winning the Northern Series 1 competition, a home regatta at Mascoma Lake in Lebanon, N.H., and coming in fourth and fifth overall in the George Morris Trophy at Boston University and the Southern Series Seven at Salve Regina University, respectively.
When Peter Williamson '12 won his first Ivy League golf championship as a freshman, he proved to the New England golfing community that he was a force to be reckoned with. When he won his second League championship this past weekend helping lead Dartmouth to a fourth-place team finish at the Championships he cemented his position in the record books, becoming just the seventh golfer to win multiple League titles.
Despite last weekend's offensive letdown against Yale University, the Big Green came out with a balanced attack to score in bursts against Brown. The wins put Dartmouth in second place in the Red Rolfe Division and a game behind Yale University in the rankings, but the Big Green hopes to reverse this setup as it plays two more games against Brown on Monday.
