Your three dauntless Mirror editors pranced into Robo on this bright, sunny Tuesday, smiling at each other while receiving warm, welcome hugs from a cheery editor-in-chief Ray Lu ’18. They were thrilled to be spending yet another long night together, especially since they all felt well-prepared for their midterms this week and because they’ve earned nothing but A’s this entire term. They’ve never felt healthier. One may go so far as to say they’re “peaking” during this wonderful week seven.

Q&A with biology professor Celia Chen

Celia Chen, a principal investigator in the Dartmouth Toxic Metals Superfund Research Program and biology professor, is an expert in ecotoxicology and aquatic ecology. She has researched the effects of metal contaminants on aquatic food chains both in freshwater and estuarine ecosystems over the last 15 years. Last month, she represented Dartmouth as a non-governmental organization at a United Nations conference. There, she advocated that scientists be involved in the implementation of the Minamata Convention on Mercury, a United Nations treaty adopted in 2013 that aims to protect human health and the environment from the hazardous effects of mercury. At the meeting, Chen joined delegates of signatory countries of the treaty.

Seven Signs It's Week Seven

Wow, it’s already week 7. The term is going by so fast! ... Or maybe not. Week 7 is a very confusing time of the term. At first you may think, “This is it! Homestretch!!” But in reality, these last few weeks are most likely going to inch by slower than you could ever imagine. Che ‘Rhymefest’ Smith visits campus, hosts workshop this week

This week, Che “Rhymefest” Smith will be conducting a student workshop on campus. Smith is a Grammy-winning hip-hop artist from Chicago. He has collaborated with and written for several artists, most notably Kanye West on his song “Jesus Walks.” He is also a philanthropist, activist and politician dedicated to opening up conversations about race and youth in America.
