Dartmouth Medical School has been renamed the Audrey and Theodor Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in honor of Theodor Geisel '25, better known as children's book author Dr. Seuss, and his wife Audrey Geisel, according to a College press release.

The Undergraduate Judicial Affairs Committee has dropped all 27 hazing charges against members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, according to former SAE president Brendan Mahoney '12. UJAO had dropped 24 of the 27 charges, which stemmed from hazing allegations made by former SAE member Andrew Lohse '12, as of Wednesday, and the remaining three hazing charges were withdrawn today. Lohse said UJAO also dropped the hazing charges against him.

The new visual arts center will be named the Black Family Visual Arts Center in honor of Leon Black '73 and his wife, who contributed $48 million toward the project, according to a College press release. The building will open in September 2012.

The College offered admission to 2,180 students for the Class of 2016 out of a total of 23,110 applicants, signifying a record-low acceptance rate of 9.4 percent, according to a College press release. The total accepted students include 465 students admitted through the early decision process in December.

The two arrested individuals, 25-year-old Heather Lewis of Barnard, Vt. and 25-year-old Michael Phillips of White River Junction, were held in Grafton County Jail last night on Class B felony charges and will be arraigned today in Lebanon, Giaccone said. Lewis is charged with two counts of theft, which are felony charges due to the value of the property stolen. Phillips is charged with being an accomplice to theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit theft, all Class B felonies, according to Giaccone.

The Board of Trustees voted at its termly meeting on Friday and Saturday to eliminate loans from the financial aid packages of students with family incomes of $100,000 per year or less, an increase from the $75,000 cutoff that has been in place since the 2011-2012 academic year.

Spanish police arrested a man in Barcelona on Wednesday for the alleged murder of Crispin Scott '13, who was found dead in a Barcelona apartment on Jan. 7 while studying abroad, the Spanish newspaper El Periodico de Catalunya reported Saturday. The man, whose name has not been released, is accused of fatally drugging Scott and is being held on homicide charges, according to El Periodico.

Dartmouth running back Nick Schwieger '12 relinquished the Asa S. Bushnell Cup Ivy League Player of the Year title on Monday, losing out to Cornell University sophomore quarterback Jeff Matthews. Despite leading the League in rushing yards for the second consecutive season, Schwieger faced a difficult challenge in upending Matthews for Offensive Player of the Year, as Matthews set the conference's single-season record for passing yards and was named national player of the week twice.

An "undetermined amount of cash" was stolen from the Hanover Town Clerk's office in a burglary during the late hours of Thursday night or early Friday morning, according to Hanover Police Chief Nicholas Giaccone. Officials at the Town Clerk's office said that several drawers were opened and the door to their "vault" that contained "all of the town's vital records" had been tampered with, he said.
