Cole Sulser ’12 gets called up to play for the Tampa Bay Rays

Cole Sulser ’12, the 29-year-old former Dartmouth right-handed pitcher, was called up to the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball after a seven-year stint in the minor leagues. He played his first game on Sept. 2 and through six solid games, has made his case to be on the team’s potential playoff roster.

The National Football League Preseason began two weeks ago at the start of August, and in under a month from now, the Chicago Bears will kick off the regular season against the Green Bay Packers to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the NFL. Looking ahead, here are my predictions for each Conference’s Playoff Standings as well as picks for the Super Bowl.


Harris to replace longtime women’s rowing coach Bordeau

Women’s rowing head coach Wendy Bordeau stepped down this week after 11 nonconsecutive years leading the program and 14 years total with the team. Kelly Harris — the lead assistant coach over the past two years — has been named interim head coach for the upcoming season. The Big Green will conduct a national search for the next permanent head coach who will start in the 2020-21 season.


Football gears up for game at Yankee Stadium versus Princeton

As part of Dartmouth’s 250th anniversary celebration and college football’s 150th anniversary, the Big Green will face off against the Princeton Tigers on Nov. 9, 2019 at Yankee Stadium. The game is not only an honor for Dartmouth and a boon for publicity on a national level, but also has major implications for the Ivy League crown. The Tigers were undefeated last year and handed Dartmouth its sole loss of the season.




Softball standout Schroder named Ivy League Player of the Year

Dartmouth softball star Micah Schroder ’20 was recently awarded Ivy League Player of the Year for her incredible 2019 performance. She is the first Dartmouth player to win the award since Katie McEachern ’16 in 2016. After earning unanimous First-Team, All-Ivy recognition, Schroder was recently named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-Northeast Region First Team.
