What Dartmouth student hasn’t spent countless hours wondering where in Hanover to get the best hot chocolate? The answer, I think, is none, particularly during this bitingly cold winter. So in the self-sacrificing nature of journalism, on a quest to answer this question, I put myself on the line. When Darbeat called, I volunteered to force myself to drink cup after cup of hot chocolate — just so Dartmouth students could sleep a little bit better at night.
'16: "I only like Christian imagery when it's being subverted."
GreenPrint: Wait, they’re already broken?
Brown University: Beginning on April 1, Cass Cliatt will replace Marissa Quinn as the new Brown University vice president for communications, according to the Brown Daily Herald. During the interim between Quinn’s departure on Jan. 1 and Cliatt’s arrival from Franklin and Marshall College, directors from public affairs and university affairs will manage the work usually assigned to the office of communications.

Do you want to build a snowman? I do not want to build a snowman. Though campus is beautiful right now in its covering of freshly fallen snow, I am not anticipating a day outdoors with my friends anytime soon. In fact, I eagerly anticipate remaining indoors. Does that mean that I am not a fan of the winter? Absolutely not. As a student at Dartmouth, I have to give credit to this College on the Hill for opening my eyes to the joy of this coldest of seasons. FoCo consistently serves different kinds of chili and buildings are over-heated to an appropriate temperature. That one time I went sledding on the golf course was a highlight of my Dartmouth experience. I could go on, but I won’t, because more importantly Dartmouth winters have taught me to look out for the things that make me happy — this column, for example, which I started during the dark days of 13W.
see you at midnight, everyone! don't forget a warm pair of gloves.
SPAN 1
We’re only a few weeks into the New Year, but at least here @Dartbeat we’ve already given up on our tricky resolutions like “do the reading” and “exercise more.” So, in order to help ourselves and other failing self-improvers, we’ve decided to put together a list of more feasible changes you can make this year to marginally better your life. Everyone has to start somewhere, right?
Even the biggest Scrooge can get hit with post-holiday blues. Your sparkling lights come down and you realize that you won’t receive any more gifts this winter. Suddenly it’s a new year, and you have to face all of this while dealing with a massive hangover. Here @Dartbeat, we know that one of the worst things about this time of year – well beyond having to go back to work and school – is that you can no longer enjoy listening to holiday music. Unfortunately, even the most aggressive radio stations seem to take holiday music off the air by January.
'16 (singing): "Do you want to build a snowman?" '16 #2: "No, I want to go to a school where it doesn't snow all the time."
Jones Media Center: Goodbye for now, 2FB.
Winter is upon us, and here @Dartbeat we know that the seemingly constant falling snow and impending darkness can leave you streaming hours of Netflix in your dorm room. So, to help fight the pressing temptation to hide under your blanket and watch the snow fall through your window, we’ve put together a list of ten fun activities you can enjoy around campus this quarter. Sure, winter can be dark. But if you get out there and embrace it, we promise that it might begin to brighten:
