Detailed description:

The Dartmouth: Through the Ages is comprised of six distinct chapters.  It begins with “Dartmouth Through the Decades,” which traces The Dartmouth’s most notable headlines during each decade. The second chapter covers the evolution of Dartmouth’s Big Weekends — Homecoming, Winter Carnival and Green Key — over time. From there, the book highlights an array of major enduring traditions, from First Year Trips to the Ledyard Challenge, that have shaped the College’s culture for years. The following chapter, “Dartmouth during Wartime,” traces the effects of major U.S. wars on Dartmouth’s campus, including World War I, World War II, Vietnam and the recent “War on Terror.” The fifth chapter focuses on the various aspects of student life, from sports to Greek life to student advocacy. Lastly, the final chapter examines the evolution of America’s Oldest College Newspaper, The Dartmouth
