Take a study break and (meteor) shower

Look ing for a late night study break? To mor row morn ing (Fri day) from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. you'll have the chance to see a meteor shower caused by de bris falling off of Halley's Comet. This cosmic dis play, called the Eta Aquarid, is one of two show ers that take place an nu ally as a re sult of Hal ley's dust. To mor row is the peak night for catch ing a glimpse of bright me te ors, which will be con cen trated in the east and south east. This year is also a par tic u larly good time to see Eta Aquarid be cause it will be tak ing place just after a new moon, leav ing the sky clear of lunar in ter fer ence. Keep your fin gers crossed for cloud less skies, and take a break from 1902 to check out this rare un earthly dis play.
