The Dartmouth women’s soccer team earned a decisive 6-0 win over the Brandeis Judges at Burnham Field in Hanover on Tuesday night.

After three games on the road, the Big Green returned to Burnham for a midweek nonconference game, where they dominated both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

Dartmouth scored quickly off a corner kick in the sixth minute. Defender Anna Leschly ’29 knocked it in off an assist from Sarah Shelburne ’28. It was Leschly’s first career goal.

“We’ve been working on corner kicks a lot during practice,” Hailey Rorick ’26 said. “We’ve been getting a lot of corner kicks during the games, but we need to capitalize on them.”

The Big Green then scored two goals in quick succession to make the score 3-0 at the half. Frankie Valverde ’27 scored in the 34th minute, with an assist from Lourdes Lauterborn ’28.

Shortly after Michal Cagungun ’29 added another with the assist from Audrey Marin ’26. It was Valverde’s first goal of the season and Cagungun’s third.

After the half, Mary Lundregan ’26 connected with Lykke Ihrfelt ’29 for Dartmouth’s fourth goal of the game and Ihrfelt’s third of the season.

Stephanie Lathrop ’28 added two more, both assisted by Nadia Young ’29, in the 84th and 89th minutes to bring the final score to 6-0. Lathrop remains the Big Green’s leading scorer, with six goals scored so far this season.

Describing her second goal, Lathrop said, “I was able to check in the midfield, find the ball, then play to Nadia, who made a great run, and then cross it over.”

On the defensive end, goalkeepers Ola Goebel ’27 and Paige Knoth ’29 each had one save with strong performances from Dartmouth’s back line.

Abby Reger ’28 got her first start on defense. Head coach Taylor Schram noted that Reger played “a full 90 minutes.”

“She was outstanding in the back for us, locked down defensively, a really big weapon coming forward in the attack,” Schram said.

Rorick also acknowledged teammate Reger’s performance.

“We had a 90 minute performance from our outside back, Reggie,” Rorick said. “Great performance from her, just being able to get that confidence up going into the Ivy League.”

The Big Green was able to stay on offense for most of the match, giving the Judges relatively few offensive opportunities. Dartmouth had 41 shots, the most in one game this season, while Brandeis only had six.

The win was certainly a team effort with lots of different players for the Big Green contributing to the victory.

“Every player that was eligible… was able to get into the match and contribute in a big way,” Schram said.

Schram also noted the supportive and positive team culture.

“This team just genuinely enjoys being together and cherishing these moments where we get to go out and put on the Big Green jersey and play together, play for one another,” Schram said.

This weekend, Dartmouth faces the Columbia Lions at home on Burnham Field at 2 p.m. Columbia is currently ranked No. 1 in the Ivy League going into the matchup, and Dartmouth is right behind at No. 2. The Big Green is looking for revenge.

“To get a win in front of our home crowd is definitely going to give us a lot of momentum going into our match against Columbia this weekend,” Schram said.  “We dropped [the game] to Columbia on the road last year. We haven’t forgotten about that.”
