"The Princeton meet was a good chance for individuals to compete, but it was a different experience having the team split up," women's co-captain Arianna Vailas '14 said. "There was a bit less enthusiasm and cheering support, and it seemed a bit more individual-focused, but it was a good chance to have a more intimate group. It definitely is a lot more fun to travel as a full team though."

In Vermont, the women's team took home a first-place finish with 96 points, ahead of second-place finisher UVM with 60. Williams College and Plattsburgh State University rounded out the four-team competition. The Big Green pushed through to excel this weekend despite unfavorable weather conditions.

"Even though it wasn't a super productive meet, everyone did a great job of being really supportive and pushing through the weather, despite the fact that it was absolutely freezing," co-captain Janae Dunchack '14 said.

The men brought home second-place honors at the Catamount Open with 76 points, coming in behind UVM's 78. Despite falling to the Catamounts, the men had strong individual performances.

"Competing in the cold definitely limits muscular mobility, and we really showed how strong the team is mentally, " co-captain Brett Gilson '13 said. "We're not unhappy with second place: the coaches were looking for certain things, and it is more important that these things are getting perfected, especially since we didn't have the whole team there."

The rest of the women fared well at the Catamount Open, with Elizabeth Markowitz '16 taking first place in the 1500-meter in 4:40.21, setting a new track record. Teammate Caroline Buck '13 also set a track record with her second-place finish of 4:46.88.

The Big Green swept the 100-meter hurdles, with Erica Hendershot '15, Lauren Ready '15, and Olivia Durr '13 taking first, second, and third places, respectively. Co-captain Megan Krumpoch '14 took home a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurtles, setting a new track record with a 1:00.86.

The women dominated 100-meter dash, with Sara Kikut '16, Toni Aguiar '16 and Anna Kikut '16 taking first, second and third in the event, respectively. Sara Kikut also took first place in the 200-meter, followed by Anna Kikut, Jennifer Meech '16, and Mollie Gribbin '16 in an event dominated by the Big Green freshmen. Dartmouth also dominated the pole vault, with Karla Verkouw '13 setting a new Livak outdoor track and field complex record, clearing in 3.49-meters. Kaitlin Whitehorn '16 continued the freshmen dominance on Saturday, winning the high jump with a 1.76-meter clear and setting a new Livak complex record in the process.

The relay teams excelled at the Catamount Open, with both the 4x100-meter and the 4x400-meter teams taking first place, and with the 4x100 team setting a new track record of 48.67 in the process.

On the men's side, the Big Green excelled across the board in Vermont. They dominated the sprints, sweeping the 100-meter and the 200-meter. Connor Reilly '13, Brett Buskey '15, and Jalil Bishop '14 took the top three spots in the 100-meter and Buskey, Jon Brady '14 and John Abraham '16 dominated the 200-meter.

The Dartmouth men had strong performances in the 5000-meter, with Tony Anzivino '16, Will Callan '15 and Taylor Neely '16 taking first with a 15:16.85, second with a 15:32.24, and third with a 15:39.34, respectively. Jacob Evanter '13 took home first place in the 110-meter hurdles with a 15.07, while Edward Wagner '16 took first in the 400-meter hurdles.

Like the women, the Big Green men also set new records at this weekend's meet, with Josh Cyphers '14 taking first in the pole vault with 4.4 meters and setting a facility record for his weight class, and Jacob Neumann '15 taking first place and setting a facility record with his discus throw of 47.53 meters.

The relay teams performed well, too, with the 4x100-meter team taking first place and the 4x400-meter team taking second.

The distance runners and throwers headed to Princeton, and several Big Green women had strong showings. Hannah Rowe '14 took fourth in the 10,000-meter run with a 35:31.65, while Bridget End '14 finished in fifth with a 35:32.36 and Claudia Pham '15 took sixth with a 36:11.41. In the 1500-meter, Lindsay Walsh '14 took fifth place with a 4:28.27. Sarah DeLozier '15 set a new personal record in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a 10:36.24. Emmaline Berg '13 took third place in the shot put and sixth in the discus.

At Princeton, the men's team performance was highlighted by a 59.35-meter second-place finish by Thomas Servino '15 in the hammer throw.

"I finished second to an Olympic trials competitor, so I felt pretty good about that performance," Servino said. "I know there is a lot more in me that I need to get all together before [the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships] though."

Dom Filiano '14 had a fourth-place finish in the shot put and eleventh in the discus throw. In the running events, the Big Green had strong individual performances in the 5000-meter, with Will Geoghegan '14 taking third place in 14:16.04 and Phil Royer '13 scoring fifth in 14:21.72. In the 1500-meter, Tim Gorman '16 took second place with a time of 3:53.69.

The Big Green men's and women's track and field teams will compete next at Brown University this Saturday.
