D'Agostino ran a 4:19.93 in the 1,500-meter run on Saturday, shattering the previous Heps record of 4:20.75 set by Penn's Stacy Kim in 2008. On Sunday, D'Agostino finished in an even faster time, crossing the line in 4:17.90, good for 10 Dartmouth points. D'Agostino's time is close to the one posted by Kristen Mawaring '96, who still holds the College record in the event with a time of 4:16.23.

"Abbey's records were amazing yet again," co-captain Alexi Pappas '12 said. "She was named MVP of the meet for the women, and I believe she truly deserves it."

D'Agostino said that even though the race was exciting in the preliminaries, she was somewhat nervous.

"The 1,500 Heps race is often very tactical and is usually extremely close in the end," she said. "It always comes down to the last lap. I was definitely confident going into [Sunday's] 1,500-meter race. I don't get to run the event often, so it was great, and I'm really happy I got to do it."

Arianna Vailas '14, who also qualified for the 1,500-meter run on Saturday after finishing with a time of 4:26.33, came up big again on Sunday. Vailas placed fourth in the event with a time of 4:24.13 and gave Dartmouth four points.

"Arianna ran very well for us today," D'Agostino said. "I think this race, and the Heps as a whole, was very exciting for Dartmouth."

The Big Green scored in every distance event in the competition. Pappas won the 3,000-meter steeplechase, setting a meet record with a time of 9:58.80. Pappas came in 11 seconds ahead of the second-place winner, Rachel Sorna from Cornell University.

To put the icing on the cake, D'Agostino and Pappas came in first and second place, respectively, in the 3,000-meter run. D'Agostino finished in 9:24.64 and Pappas crossed the line in 9:25.63. Both finished far ahead of the crowd, as Nihal Kayali of Yale University finished third in 9:34.85.

"It was awesome running in a race together with Abbey," Pappas said. "We have worked very hard to make it to this point, and it was a great experience."

Also scoring points for the Big Green were Chrissy Supino '12 and Megan Krumpoch '14, who ran in the 800-meter and 400-meter hurdles, respectively. Supino added one point to the Big Green's overall score after her 2:09.19 run, good for a sixth-place finish. Krumpoch finished the hurdles in 1:01.00 and contributed two points for Dartmouth with her fifth-place finish. Emmaline Berg '13 scored six points and came in third in the shot put, and teammate Corinne Romano '15 finished one place behind her.

The women's 4x800-meter relay team finished second in the event to Princeton University's team, with the group of Margaret Donovan '15, Vailas, D'Agostino and Supino adding eight more points for Dartmouth. In the next event, the foursome of Caroline Buck '13, Katrina Cord '15, Naomi Stahl '12 and Krumpoch claimed sixth in the 4x400-meter relay.

"I think the team rose to the occasion this weekend and showed how hard we have been working," D'Agostino said. "It was so fun seeing people be brave and putting all of their efforts into these races."

Pappas said she was also satisfied with the team's performance.

"Everyone showed up to compete this weekend, and I couldn't be happier," she said. "We ran really well and handled ourselves properly given how big of a competition this was."

The Big Green will travel to Princeton, N.J. next weekend for the ECAC Championships.

"Our goal is to stay confident and keep competing at the level we are right now," D'Agostino said. "We want to treat each race one at a time."
