Dom Filiano '14 led the Big Green men to victory with a decisive win in the men's shot put (55'6.5") and a third-place showing in the men's weight throw (50'3.25").

"It felt great to help the team out today," Filiano said. "I got a lot stronger and more fluid technically during the summer and it's paying off right now. Hopefully I can continue to improve as the season progresses."

The men's high jump showcased the Big Green's arsenal of young and talented jumpers. Jeremy Birck '15 (6'8.25") and Sam Yoder '15 (6'6") finished first and fourth in the event, respectively.

Birck said his result on Sunday gives him confidence for the rest of the season.

"I didn't know what to expect," said Birck. "It feels good though to set the bar high for the rest of the season. Hopefully I can keep pushing myself and work up to 6'10" by the end of the year."

In the men's one-mile run, Matt Miner '12 won the race in memorable fashion in his final time competing at the Relays. The senior beat out several opponents in a sprint finish with a time of 4:11.25.

In his first collegiate track meet, Brett Buskey '15 finished fourth overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.07 seconds. Tyrone Despenza '13 finished sixth in 7.12 seconds.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Evan Bryant '12, Sequoyah Reynoso '12, Kevin Crowley '13 and Jalil Bishop '14 finished second to the team from UMass-Lowell. The Big Green's time of 3:25.81 was just over a second back of the Riverhawks' 3:24.40.

Other top performances in the meet came from Jacob Evanter '13, who finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.43 seconds, and Josh Cyphers '14 and Brett Gilson '13, who finished third and fifth in the men's pole vault with vaults of 15'0" and 14'6", respectively.

Men's head coach Barry Harwick was very pleased with the weekend, and was particularly happy with the performance of the Big Green's youngest runners, he said.

"This was a big event for us logistically, for our recruiting, and also for our younger athletes," Harwick said. "We got some really great results from our younger guys, and we're excited to get all of our runners back to competing within the next couple home meets."

On the women's side, the Big Green was dominant and wasted no time in establishing a cushion in the team scoring. In the women's 800-meter run, six of the top seven finishers represented Dartmouth Arianna Vailas '14, who won the event in 2:15.42, Kaitlyn D'Orazio '13, Meggie Donovan '15, Christine Bub '13, Renee Domozych '12 and April O'Brien '13.

The women finished similarly in the mile run, claiming five of the top seven spots in the field. Captains Alexi Pappas '12 (4:50.74) and Chrissy Supino '12 (4:53.47) finished atop the field, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the other racers.

In the women's 400-meter dash, Dartmouth claimed seven of the top 10 spots in the field. Megan Krumpoch '14 won the race in 57.94 seconds, over a second and a half faster than the second-place finisher.

Women's head coach Sandy Ford-Centonze thought the weekend brought the team closer together and also heralded more impressive performances to come.

"After a long break, it was great to have the team all back together," she said. "We bonded a lot and the excitement of competition was back. The girls had some good performances today. Hopefully we can stay healthy, so we can keep shaving time and adding inches at our meets in the future."

Looking forward, both the men's and women's teams host the University of Maine, the University of Vermont and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Jan. 14 in Leverone Fieldhouse beginning at 12 p.m.
