The Big Green (8-4-0, 3-0 Ivy) again got off to a slow start, surrendering the game's first goal 21 minutes in on a second-chance shot by Friars freshman Daniella Bernasconi.

Dartmouth's play early in the match was similar to its performance on Friday night against Boston University.

"Unfortunately, I felt we played a bit frantically in the first half, not playing as smart and composed," co-captain Kerry Bracco '11 said. "However, I feel it says a lot about our team that we, once again, came from behind and kept up the momentum the entire second half. It's been a very tough few days coming off a tough game with BU followed by two days of practice and the game today."

The Big Green got its first break late in the second half, when Meghan Everett '12 tipped in a pass low inside the circle from Lisa Masini '13. The goal was Everett's fifth of the season.

Dartmouth dominated offensively from that point on, outshooting Providence, 26-9, and taking 10 penalty corners in the match. The Big Green moved the ball especially well in the second half.

Co-captain Kelly Hood '12 and Savage led the Dartmouth attack with nine and seven shots, respectively.

"We know we can generate scoring it's just a matter of finishing," head coach Amy Fowler said. "In the first half, we weren't really able to capitalize on our chances, but the second half we were able to score two good goals."

Bracco said the match displayed "the depth and versatility" of the Dartmouth attack.

"I think that the team played well offensively once we picked up the momentum and started connecting our passes," she said. "We had a lot of chances. However, their goalie played a terrific game. It is great to see three different people score and players have both goals and assists."

Dartmouth's defense, led by Bracco, also played superbly throughout the matchup. Vakiener stopped three shots to record her eighth win of the season.

Bracco added that goalie Meagan Vakiener '12 saved the team on numeruous occasions.

"As a defensive unit, we always thrive for a shutout," she said. "In the second half, we picked up our communication, which is key all around the field, but especially on defense. We also have been working a lot on our zone and corner defense, which I felt we executed very well."

Fowler said the Big Green "played very proactively."

"Defense is something we've really been working on and I feel we stepped it up in the second half," she said. "We played hard, got 50-50 balls and our goalkeeper played aggressively and cut off angles to prevent Providence from scoring."

Dartmouth earned its first lead of the game when Savage scored on a cross pass in the low circle. The play came off a pass from Everett after a Dartmouth penalty corner.

The Big Green's final goal came from Anderson as time expired, when she connected with a pass from Savage off a loose ball rebound.

Dartmouth next plays Yale University on Saturday at 12 p.m. in New Haven, Conn. Fowler said Dartmouth is firmly focused on maintaining its early-season success.

"All of the remaining Ivy League games are big contests," she said. "Our mindset is on winning the title, so every we matchup against an Ivy, it's an important game."

Yale (5-6, 2-1 Ivy) will present one of the Big Green's tougher challenges so far this season, Folwer said.

"I want the team to be prepared to play 70 minutes of hockey," she said. "I don't want to dig ourselves a whole in the first half and have to come back in the second."
