Despite a futuristic premise that makes little sense, "Source Code" manages to elicit the emotion and suspense of an old-fashioned thriller. The train setting embodies the feel of the movie, as the film hurtles towards an uncertain end with claustrophobic attention to character all the way through. It turns out to be a ride you don't want to miss. Katie Kilkenny
Like most action movies, this film is guilty of a moderately implausible premise and a "plot twist" that is not quite as unpredictable as the writers hoped. Unlike most action movies, the film is thought-provoking and even raises existential questions. Gyllenhaal infuses his bland everyman of a character with heart, and aside from the technological jargon (and distracting similarities to "Avatar"), "Source Code" is an old fashioned whodunit. For those sci-fi fans who secretly loved "Groundhog Day," your dream movie is here. In living something over and over again, Bill Murray learned to appreciate what was under his nose, whereas Gyllenhaal saves the world. Despite an implausible plot, decent, sympathetic characters emerge in the film. Wacky but heart-warming, "Source Code" is a worthwhile way to spend 90 minutes. Rachel Carter
