Now playing IN HANOVER

Directed by: Darren AronofskyWith: Portman, Kunis, Hershey, Cassel108 min.Rated R

With stunning precision, "Black Swan" crafts a harrowingly familiar tale from Nina's fall. Aronofsky's use of handheld cameras, the sound of cracking toenails and sight of emaciated limbs during graceful dances, combined with Portman's performance, converge to form a film that although highly exaggerated intimately portrays Nina's drive to perfection.

- Katie KilkennyNo matter how much you have already heard about "Black Swan," you will still be surprised by its complex, mind-boggling depiction of Nina's descent into madness the first time you see the film.

Despite the overwhelming complexities of the storyline, Portman, Kunis and Cassel's performances are so captivating that the story, interwoven with the ballet "Swan Lake," is realistic and engaging.

Driven by extraordinary performances from Portman and Kunis, "Black Swan" is an engrossing and disturbing melodrama. Instilled with the spirit of Tchaikovsky's music, "Black Swan" is one of the better films to come out this year.
