Internet Meme of the Week:

Chorus director Gregg Breinberg began blogging and posting videos of the Chorus in 2006, soon garnering a devoted internet fanbase. Its repertoire is vast, ranging from Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" to MGMT's "Kids" and Tori Amos' "Snow Angel." Over the past five years, the Chorus has gained a following on YouTube (with over 29 million views of their videos) and has attracted the attention of celebrities such as Perez Hilton, Oprah, Kylie Minogue and the hosts of Good Morning America.

In December, the Chorus achieved what is arguably its greatest honor to date when Oscar producer Bruce Cohen and host Anne Hathaway surprised the Chorus at its 11th annual winter concert to invite the kids to perform at the Oscars. Completely shocked, the thrilled singers jumped up and down, squealing. Hathaway was visibly blown away by their excitement and by just how loud they could cheer.

Another YouTube video titled "OSCAR-whelmed!" documents the Chorus members' excitement at getting to perform at the Oscars. Screams, hugs and tears of joy filled the room, with one girl crying at the prospect of traveling to Hollywood and walking the red carpet. But perhaps the best reaction of the night was Hathaway's visit being described as being a "wet-your-pants moment."
