"True Grit" is a must see for all fans of the Western genre and of the Coen brothers, who once again prove that they can do no wrong with this stellar remake of the classic John Wayne film. At times you wonder how seriously you should take the film, but a stellar cast including Damon, my personal favorite, and the legendary Bridges ultimately pulls it off. Jackie Donohoe
The Coen brothers deviate from their eccentric, emotionless style to create a classic sentimental film and it works. With its compelling story and exciting cinematography, "True Grit" shows that the Western is far from dead. As different as the film may be from a traditional Coen classic, it echoes fate to circumstance, themes that characterize the Coen brothers' other works. Gavin Huang
Filled with loveable characters and wonderful dialogue, "True Grit" is one of the better films to be released in 2010. Steinfeld gives an extraordinary debut performance as the brash young Mattie Ross, while Bridges cements his status as one of Hollywood's great actors. In short, the Coen brothers' loving adaptation of Charles Portis' novel is a must-see Oscar contender. Alec Brodsky
