The Dartmouth women finished in first with a total of 101 points. Vermont took second with 61 points, and Middlebury rounded out the field in third with 36 points.

The victory can be attributed to a sweep of all the field events and a solid performance on the track.

The dominant results in the field began with a first place finish from Malina Simmers '11 in the long jump and triple jump with marks of 17'06" and 38'00", respectively.

Co-Captain Jaclyn Wypler '11 won her first javelin event of the season with a throw of 127'01". Her toss was the fifth-farthest throw ever recorded in the Ivy League

Sarah Klassen '10, who has been a staple in the high jump for the Big Green throughout her career, did not disappoint, winning the event with a jump of 5'06". Klassen is currently tied for second in the Ivy League in the event behind only Anja Hergrueter of Brown University.

Rounding out the field event victories were Anna Niedbala '12 in the discus toss with a throw of 137'03" and Emmaline Berg '13 in the shot put with a toss of 44'0.35". Berg finished fifth at Indoor Heptagonals earlier this season and is currently ranked fourth in the Ivy League.

On the track, Priscilla Trojano '12 won the 200-meter dash in 26.71 seconds, while Natalie Stoll '10 took first in the 400-meter dash in 57.67.

Alex Tanner '11 won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.14, nearly three seconds ahead of her closest competitor. Tanner is the defending Outdoor Heps Champion in the event and said she is looking to continue her success from last season.

"I think the race went really well considering the weather and not really having anyone to run with," she said. "As for Heps, obviously I'd love the same outcome as last year, but I really don't want to say too much about it since I have no clue what's going to happen. I just plan on continuing dropping my times, and if I can do better than what I did last year, then I'll have accomplished exactly what I wanted to."

The men saw similar success, winning many individual events on their way to the team win, with co-captain Ted Lesher '10 and Don Kephart '11 each winning two events.

Lesher won the long jump and 110-meter hurdles to continue his strong outdoor season. He took the long jump with a leap of 22'11.75", and his 110-meter hurdles win came in 15.23 seconds.

Kephart finished first in the shot put and the discus. Kephart won the shot put with a toss of 46'09.5" and the discus with a throw of 145'02".

In the other throws, Dave Irving '11 won the hammer throw with a hurl of 186'02", and Chris Roe '11 threw 195'09" for a win in the javelin. Classmate Dan Ostrovsky '11 finished second in the javelin with a toss of 192'03". Roe and Ostrovsky hold the second and third farthest throws, respectively, in the Ivy League this season.

In the track events, Connor Reilly '13 continued his Ivy League domination of the short-sprints with a win in the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.77 seconds. This puts Reilly at No. 4 on the all-time list for Dartmouth in the event and in the No.2 spot in the Ivy League for the season.

"It was great to see that so many of us were able to perform so well this early in the season, especially considering the conditions being so wet and slippery," Reilly said.

Co-captain Muhammed Abdul-Shakoor '10 took home a win in the 200-meter dash at 22.08 seconds, and Chris Zablocki '10 closed out the meet for the Big Green with a win in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 14:33.46.

The Big Green scored 110 points, Vermont finished with 51 points and Middlebury came in last with 30 points.

"The weather was not perfect, but we stressed to the athletes the importance of competing hard regardless of the situation and that is exactly what they did," head coach Barry Harwick said. "I am looking forward to our meet at Princeton this weekend, there will be great competition and that is the site of the outdoor Heps."

The Big Green will continue its outdoor season at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University this weekend.
