The Princeton University men's rugby team faced tough competition during its spring break tour, beating the Barbados national team, 32-15. The victory "[would] go down as one of the great days in Princeton Rugby history," head coach Rich Lopacki said, according to the DailyPrincetonian.com. The Barbados squad is ranked 75 out of the 95 nations recognized by the International Rugby Board. Before facing the national team, the Tigers also defeated the top two club teams from Barbados the Scorpions, 20-12, and the Renegades, 35-5. The Princeton ruggers finished in fifth in the Ivy League during the Fall, failing to earn a berth in the four-team Ivy playoffs.

Cornell seniors Jeff Foote and Ryan Wittman competed in the 2010 Reese's College All-Star Game, held at the Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind., last Friday, IvyLeagueSports.com reported. The game consisted of the top senior student-athletes in the country. Foote and Wittman competed on the Hershey squad, which lost the game to the Reese's team, 106-101. Wittman also participated in the ESPN 3-Point Shootout the day before. He made it to the final round of the eight-player competition, finally succumbing to Maryland's Eric Hayes and finishing second overall. Wittman finished his career as the Big Red's all-time leading scorer and the Ivy League's all-time leading three-point shooter, PressConnects.com reported.

Jerome Allen was recently named head coach of the University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team after acting as the interim head coach since the December dismissal of previous head coach Glenn Miller, according to IvyLeagueSports.com. Originally hired as the squad's assistant coach in August 2009, Allen led the Quakers (6-22, 5-9 Ivy) on a 6-15 run as interim head coach after the team started the season on a seven-game losing streak under Miller. He also coached the squad to an upset victory over Cornell University the Big Red's only Ivy loss. Allen played for the Penn basketball team from 1991-1995, helping the squad to earn three Ivy titles while procuring Ivy League Player of the Year awards during his sophomore and junior seasons.
